Better Days Are Coming In 2022 – Here’s What You Need To Know About the Astrology Of The Year Ahead

2022 Will Be Brighter Than 2021

This year has already kicked off with a bang, but the running theme of the year, if not clear already, will become brazenly obvious this Pisces season: You deserve good things. 2022 will bring lighter energy in comparison to what we've seen over the last couple of years. With America's Pluto return and the tense Saturn—Uranus square that has been triggering mass social and political changes and an upheaval of our world structures, it's safe to say that many of us need a fresh spark of hope. Queue Jupiter in Pisces. The emphasis of Piscean energy this year will really open our minds and hearts to new possibilities and remind us that we can feel joy even when the world around us isn't where we'd like it to be. A lot of blessings, opportunities, luck, and happiness are headed our way; the question is, will you open up your heart to receive it?

We live in a culture that has conditioned us to believe we have to fight, grind, and claw our way to the top to earn success, happiness, and even rest. This will really be emphasized between January to March as we experience Plutonian conjunctions that will intensify the collective energy. Our focus will be on power and our unexplainable/uncontrollable urges. Thankfully, the Full Moon in Virgo on March 18th will bring a conclusion to our hard work where we will reach satisfying heights in our careers that allow us to grow on tremendous levels (Full Moon trine Pluto). Nevertheless, this complicated lunation will square Black Moon Lilith in Gemini and oppose Neptune in Pisces. This aspect suggests that while we have prioritized our outer world, we have neglected our inner well-being and have formed mindsets and made decisions that aren't inclusive to our feelings.

Sensitive Reflections

The middle of the year will be far more sensitive and reflective, asking us to slow down during a sensitive spring and retrograde-packed summer. Pluto will station retrograde on April 29 at 28 degrees Capricorn, putting a global focus on collective growth and how we can completely eliminate the old (within our society) to thoroughly transform. Plutonian growth, however, often comes forcefully through the shadows, meaning it can bring a lot of pain, destruction, and upheaval in its wake. Global, structural, and political changes will be made during this retrograde that will be done in the best interest of a few over the masses. We will see governments and corporations seek to protect themselves against hidden threats and enemies that the rest of society hasn't been alerted to.

Saturn will station retrograde in Aquarius on June 4 during vibrant and social Gemini Season. This energy may taint the carefree and youthful energy we're used to seeing during this time of year, bringing responsibilities that seem to take the fun out of being alive. Saturn will begin its retrograde with a square to Mercury in Taurus, causing heavy reflections on whether you are meeting your responsibilities and commitments without allowing them to eclipse your happiness. Mid-2022 will challenge us to prioritize our joy without avoiding our responsibilities. Additionally, we must learn to give to others without taking away from ourselves and lowering our boundaries, and learn to share the weight of our burdens instead of burning out.

Analytical Autumn

As the year winds down, the cosmic focus will be on protection, logic, and data when Mars stations retrograde in Gemini on October 30. Mars retrograde will slow our energy down significantly, making it difficult to work hard and fast towards our goals. This energy will be very frustrating and could cause you to fall through or over-commit to plans and hyper-protect yourself if you feel like your thoughts are being attacked. Your inner power and drive will feel suppressed causing you, or the people around you, to lack focus and come across as scattered and undependable.

November could be a heavier month as the Sun, Venus, and Mercury will form a conjunction with the South Node and an opposition with the North Node of destiny. When transiting planets come into contact with the South Node, it'll bring a massive decrease in energy that could trigger themes, behaviors, and memories from your past lives. You will see a repeat of themes that you've battled in your past/past life that could trigger you as a challenge to approach familiar situations differently. Think of this as an opportunity to break karmic cycles relating to your identity and expression (Sun), relationships (Venus), and the way you interact with others (Mercury).

With Jupiter (the planet that will have the strongest positive influence on us this year) entering Aries on December 20, we will be full of energy, optimism, and confidence. There will be a new focus on leadership and receiving glowing rewards when you take action and actively chase your dreams. 2022 will round off with the dramatic Venus-Pluto conjunction on the final day of the year, December 31. This will be a repeat of the 2021 Venus-Pluto conjunction that brought tremendous rebirths, global changes, and reorientations that shifted the way we approach relationships, resources, and finances. What started as a game-changing year will come to a familiar ending, alluding to more changes on a global scale coming this Winter and in early 2023.
