There is no single definition of manifestation, what it does and how it works. Manifestation as a practice has existed for centuries. It has and continues to be practiced throughout all corners of religion and spirituality. In religious texts, followers are told to ask God/the Gods for whatever they desire, and afterwards prepare and thank him as he delivers on their wishes. Manifestation is intention and the practice of working with the universe to create or manifest your dreams into reality. One cannot believe in manifestation without the belief in the universe and power of the divine.
Manifestation teaches us that we have the power to create our own reality. Of course this is a rather privileged mentality, as more often than not people are unable to drastically change circumstances caused by capitalism through mere thoughts. However, manifestation is a practice that reaffirms that there is an undeniable power that lies in belief. The kind of belief that’s required when manifesting is the child-like mentality we had when we were young and constantly reminded that the world was our oyster.
When children vocalise their dreams of becoming Astronauts, Veterinarians or Athletes, they’re met with widely optimistic responses. They’re told ‘with hard you can do anything‘ and ‘so long as you practice, you will definitely achieve your goals‘. Manifestation is the adult translation of dreams come true and wishing upon a star with a flair of intentional practice and preparation. In order to successfully manifest, we must tap back into the mindset of our inner child. We must remind ourselves of what it was like to believe in our individual power and ability to do anything despite external restrictions.

From childhood, we’ve recognised that that the first stage of manifestation is to identify the dream. This is far more than simply thinking about what we want every now and then. When identifying our dreams we need to fixate on them and really visualise our desires becoming a reality. Note how children say I’m going to be an Astronaut rather than I want to be an astronaut. This certainty that they put into the universe is carried with them though every conversation and action they have/make. Rather than saying ‘I want my dream job‘, embrace the knowingness that you will get your dream job and that the universe is currently shifting in order to cater to your desires.

There are many additional tools that are used to strengthen the intention and visualisation behind manifestation. Note how children often dress up as characters who’s traits they wish to embody. Whilst you’re more than welcome to continue dressing up well into your adulthood if that’s what works for you, other methods of visualisation include; meditation, affirmations, journaling and the use of candles and crystals.
Affirmations are a useful practice if you struggle with holding an intense faith in yourself and the universe. By breathing optimism and faith into the world, you begin to embody the very words that you recite. Journaling and meditating on your dreams allows you explore the depths of why you’re manifesting, how your manifestations will better your life and whether your manifestations truly align with your needs and soul purpose. This refined clarity will strengthen and charge your manifestations with a relentless determination.
Lastly, crystals and candles are both charged with unique frequencies and purpose that can enhance the energies of your manifestations. For example, if it’s an increase in wealth and finances that you are manifesting, lighting green candles and surrounding yourself with Citrine crystals will strengthen these energies. Additionally, manifesting channels the power of the ‘Sahasrara‘ Crown Chakra which can be enhanced though connected crystals such as; Moonstone, Selenite, Amethyst and Clear Quartz.

Action and practice is the final stage of manifestation, and perhaps the most important. Think of action as preparation for what you desire. Manifesting a shiny new car with no drivers licence and nowhere to park said car, isn’t likely to work in your favour. Neither is manifesting true love when you still carry unhealed pain and trauma from your past relationships. How would you behave if you knew that new promotion you’d been longing for was on its way? What would you do if you knew there were a short few days separating you from meeting your soulmate? What if it was only a matter of time before you got the new car you’d be longing for?
How would you prepare today if tomorrow you were to receive everything you’d ever wanted? Are you ready? I mean physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially prepared? Whether your answer is yes or no, practice, repetition and reaffirmation is essential when manifesting. There’s no use in giving up after a day or two of not receiving what you want. Stride powerfully into the office as if you would once you’ve received your promotion. Wear the beautiful clothes you’ve been reserving for future date nights with your soul mate. Truly believe and embody the person/lifestyle that you dream of and through the law of attraction, your thoughts will transform into reality.
