The Power Of Thought
There is no single definition of manifestation, what it does and how it works. Manifestation as a practice has existed for centuries. It has and continues to be practiced throughout all corners of religion and spirituality. In religious texts, followers are told to ask God/the Gods for whatever they desire, and afterwards prepare and thank him as he delivers on their wishes. Manifestation is intention and the practice of working with the universe to create or manifest your dreams into reality. One cannot believe in manifestation without the belief in the universe and power of the divine.
Manifestation teaches us that we have the power to create our own reality. Of course this is a rather privileged mentality, as more often than not people are unable to drastically change circumstances inflicted by capitalism through idealisation. However, manifestation is a practice that reaffirms that there is an undeniable power that lies within belief. The kind of belief that’s required when manifesting is the child-like mentality we had when we were young and constantly reminded that the world was our oyster.
When children vocalise their dreams of becoming Astronauts, Veterinarians or Athletes, they’re met with widely optimistic responses. They’re told ‘with hard you can do anything‘ and ‘so long as you practice, you will definitely achieve your goals‘. Manifestation is the adult translation of dreams come true and wishing upon a star with a flair of intentional practice and preparation. In order to successfully manifest, we must tap back into the mindset of our inner child. We must remind ourselves of what it was like to believe in our individual power and ability to do anything, despite external restrictions. When we believe in the power of our manifestations we must do so truthfully and confidently.
From childhood, we’ve recognised that that the first stage of manifestation is to identify the dream. This is far more than simply thinking about what we want every now and then. When identifying our dreams we need to fixate on them and really visualise our desires becoming a reality. Note how children say I’m going to be an Astronaut rather than I want to be an astronaut. This certainty that they put into the universe is carried with them though every conversation and action they have/make. Rather than saying ‘I want my dream job‘, embrace the knowingness that you will get your dream job and that the universe is currently shifting in order to cater to your desires. Words carry an intense energetic frequency that is capable of transforming our reality. All that we fixate on and consume becomes a part of our reality. All that we tell ourselves sticks to our identity and our egos, thus effecting the shifts of our vibration. Honour yourself and your inner power. Believe in the magic that lies within that the undeniable forces shifting through our universe. Recite affirmations that allow you to embody your fearless and magnetising higher self. You deserve all that you desire, simply by being your most authentic, human self.
When people feel discouraged and abandon the practice of manifestation, it is usually due to their misunderstanding of timelines and their ungrounded expectations. To understand timelines means to recognise that manipulating energy is possible, though there are times when it is more possible than others. Similarly, manifesting goals is always clearer and more beneficial than manifesting milestones. Manifesting under Eclipse energy is not recommended as we cannot work with the chaotic and karmic energy of the universe under this intense shift. Sometimes, we cannot interfere with the timelines of the universe and must install our faith in spirit to guide us to where we need to be when we need to be there. Instead of setting the intention that you will be rich or successful in a year, be grounded and specific in your approach. What does success mean to you? What symbolises wealth to you? How about ‘I will make X amount of money this year’? Or ‘This year, I will progress on my journey to financial freedom by attaining ______’.
There are many additional tools that are used to strengthen the intention and visualisation behind manifestation. Note how children often dress up as characters who’s traits they wish to embody. Whilst you’re more than welcome to continue dressing up in your adulthood, other methods of visualisation include; meditation, dreaming, affirmations, journaling, vision boards and the use of candles and crystals.
By breathing optimism and faith into the world and ourselves through affirmations, we begin to embody the very words that we chant. Journaling, dreaming and meditating on our goals allows us to explore the depths of why we’re manifesting, how our manifestations will enhance our lives and whether our manifestations truly align with our needs and soul purpose. This refined clarity will strengthen and charge our manifestations with a relentless determination. It is essential that we differentiate whether our manifestations are pure in essence— do they stem from the callings of our soul or are they based on our ego’s desires? Creating vision boards are a great way to immerse yourself with positive energy and keep yourself on target.
Crystals and candles are both charged with unique frequencies and purpose that can enhance the energies of your manifestations. For example, if it’s an increase in wealth and finances that you are manifesting, lighting green candles and surrounding yourself with Citrine or Pyrite crystals will strengthen these energies. Additionally, manifesting channels the power of the ‘Sahasrara‘ Crown Chakra, which can be enhanced though connected crystals such as; Moonstone, Selenite, Amethyst and Clear Quartz.
Aligned action and practice is the final stage of manifestation and perhaps the most important. Think of action as preparation for what you desire. Manifesting a shiny new car with no drivers licence and nowhere to park said car, isn’t likely to work in your favour. Neither is manifesting true love when you still carry unhealed pain and trauma from your past relationships that are maintaining subconscious barriers to your energy. How would you behave if you knew that new promotion you’d been longing for was on its way? What would you do if you knew there were a short few days separating you from meeting your soulmate? What if it was only a matter of time before you got the new car you’d be longing for? An adjustment in attitude, mindset and behaviour all come together to make manifestations successful. There’s no point in manifesting top grades and not showing up for the test!
How would you prepare today if tomorrow you were to receive everything you’d ever wanted? Are you ready? I mean physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially prepared? Practice, repetition and reaffirmation are essential when it comes to manifesting. Manifestation can act as a test of faith and perseverance; if you find yourself giving up after only a few short days and minor hurdles, reassess how connected you are to your desires and where they’re stemming from. Stride powerfully into the office as if you would once you’ve received your promotion. Wear the beautiful clothes you’ve been reserving for future date nights with your soul mate. Truly believe and embody the person/lifestyle that you dream of and through the law of attraction, your thoughts will transform into reality.
