Affirmations are an often overlooked form of setting intentions and nurturing ourselves. They are words, phrases, or statements that can be repeated in order to affect our subconscious mind. When we repeat things often enough, they become part of our identity and have the power to transform our mentality. This is why it is essential that we only project and embrace positive energy and vibrations. Affirmations are here to motivate us. To keep us in a healthy mental space, love ourselves, and stay focused and positive.
Our Chakras function the best when they are activated and aligned. This can be done through conscious actions and affirmations. It can also be achieved through yoga, meditation and mantra chanting, taken from traditional Indian Chakra aligning practices. Chakras are experienced and felt in our physical bodies, and their energies allow us to stay grounded and truly connected to our bodies and our souls. Our chakras take in energy from our intentions, behaviour and immediate surroundings. It’s vital that we are continuously self aware and conscious of all that we do, think and feel in order to develop our chakras and keep them balanced.

Symptoms of a blocked Root Chakra: Fear. Anxiousness. Feeling of not belonging anywhere.
Symptoms of an overactive Root Chakra: Aggression & greed. Overly practical. Unable to let go and resistant to change. Materialistic.

Symptoms of a blocked Sacral Chakra: Fear of intimacy. Low creativity. Holding yourself back. Boredom. Fear of change. Addictive behaviour. Non-sexual.
Symptoms of an overactive Sacral Chakra: Fixated on sex. Manipulation. Hyper-emotional. Guilt. Self indulgent. Problems with attachment.

Symptoms of a blocked Solar Plexus Chakra: Overly passive. Aimless. Poor digestion. Victim complex. Insecurity. Low self-esteem.
Symptoms of an overactive Solar Plexus Chakra: Dominance. Stubborn. Arrogant. Controlling. Heartburn.

Symptoms of a blocked Heart Chakra: Uncaring. Grief. Loneliness. Lack of compassion. No sense of connection to the divine.
Symptoms of an overactive Heart Chakra: Inefficient setting of personal boundaries. Co-dependency. Loving too much. Unhealthy relationships.

Symptoms of a blocked Throat Chakra: Defensiveness. Lies. Being misunderstood and secretive. Poor self expression. Stuttering.
Symptoms of an overactive Throat Chakra: Gossiping. Unnecessary loudness. Excessive talking. Poor listening. Opinionated and overly critical. Deceptiveness. Manipulation.

Symptoms of a blocked Third Eye Chakra: Poor judgement. Failure to see beyond the physical and tangible. Bad focus and imagination. Poor concentration. Overly reliant on logic and intellect.
Symptoms of an overactive Third Eye Chakra: Nightmares. Obsession. Disillusion. Misuse of intuition.

Symptoms of a blocked Crown Chakra: Weak faith. Ungrounded. Indecisive. Confusion and melancholic thoughts. Diziness.
Symptoms of an overactive Crown Chakra: Judgemental. Disregard for spirituality. Sense of grandiosity. A sense of meaninglessness.
