how’re you feeling? mercury has stationed direct at 14°45’ cancer, bringing an end to its second retrograde of the year (but not the last). while our minds and communication will be a lot clearer, on a personal level, what i believe to be the hardest part of the retrograde is now upon us- the shadow period. ⁣

during retrogrades we’re challenged to reflect, retreat and renew in order to emerge emotionally stronger than we were before. while things are getting back into their groove and moving forwards again NOW’s the time where we’ll be tested by the universe to see if we’ll push forwards towards better things or retreat back into our old ways. ⁣

after a retrograde, the most important thing we can do is take ownership of the things we do and the mistakes we make (because mistakes are inevitable as we are flawed beings). we no longer have a backwards transiting and disruptive planet to blame for what’s going wrong in our lives. we can no longer blame lack of awareness as we had the last month to conduct a deep, internal reflection of the self. ⁣

healing our egos and overcoming insecurities will be the grand theme for the second half of 2020 as chiron stations retrograde on july 11th at 9°26’ aries. his retrograde will last until december 15th where he will station direct at 4°56’ aries.⁣⁣

chiron in ancient mythology was a centaur who was an elder, wise healer, prophet and teacher. he was born from karmic saturn and was renowned for healing others but being unable to heal the personal wounds that shaped his life. ⁣⁣

his retrograde certainly won’t be an easy one. in fact, out of all the transiting retrogrades this year, chiron‘s will be the deepest, rawest and most transformative. of course this means the painful resurfacing and reopening of old wounds and the revelations of toxic patterns. but this isn’t something to be fearful of. ⁣⁣

we’ll be perceiving and observing things from a revitalised perspective, particularly as mercury stations direct on july 12th. if you’ve already been actively using this years retrogrades to take conscious steps forth on your healing journey, chiron stationing retrograde won’t be so much of an abrupt change in reality for you as it will be for others. ⁣⁣

historically, the greatest, most abstract and intellectual minds of our kind have been highly connected to ancient wisdom and spirituality. outside of the western world, such beliefs were openly explored through art, literature, the church, film, media, legends and folklore. however, in western society, divine consciousness, spiritual awareness and secret philosophies have been (and continue to be) gate-kept. ridiculed openly, yet celebrated behind closed doors.⁣

ancient wisdom is deeply ingrained into our everyday existence, but it takes a keen, inquisitive eye to be able to see such messages and understand them as more than just coincidence or mythology. have you ever wondered why ‘un-scientific’ beliefs dominate and form such core foundation to the history of our species?⁣

we’re reminded today that healing is not love and light, and that any beliefs which align with this unrealistic expectation will be dismantled under today’s mercury-mars aspect. ⁣

we’re inherently subjective under the transiting cancerian influences, and may feel drawn to the affirmation of love and light because there’s is a cloud of selectiveness embracing us this retrograde which prohibits us from being honest and objective about ourselves and our experience. love and light is highly restrictive to our growth and far easier to embody than honesty and acknowledgment of our shadow sides.⁣

today, our self reflections and perceptions are challenged under the 0.8° square between mercury rx at 6°22’ cancer and mars in domicile at 5°36 aries. mars in aries is sharp, self interested and won’t allow any space for obtuseness, dishonestly or attacks on our egos. this is a tense aspect as mars challenges mercury who today is highly critical and seeks sanctuary in holding high, emotional and unrealistic expectations. ⁣

we’ve put an intense amount of pressure on ourselves to lead a healing journey that isn’t true, which will manifest today as defensiveness as we are faced with reality and mars tells us to CUT THE BS! this may materialise as problems that we’ve brushed aside and haven’t addressed at the core re-surfacing and causing a second wave of fierce and overwhelming emotions.⁣

soul growth cannot be found in the belief of being all love and light. only once we accept that we are a dual blend of light and shadow and are raw, imperfect beings as we were designed to be will we be able to love our core selves.⁣
